Efficacy matters
It is within the finest tradition of being human to insists on efficacy when it comes to your own health.
For thousands of years, when a food or substance was found to effectively produce health, people incorporated it into their lives and taught their children. Methods of maximizing soil, preserving food through fermentation, preparing bone broths and the use of essential oils and herbs survived millennia – in every culture.
Today, you can visit the Facebook and Youtube feeds of functional medicine doctors to view success stories. We can try what they recommend on ourselves and compare notes with others around the world.
Doctor or patient, the key question is this:
Will this treatment merely mask symptoms or remove the cause so the condition can go away permanently?
Evaluating a treatment based on it’s effectiveness is fair, isn’t it?
What’s working? In the next chapter, I’ll show you the simple diagnostic method used by functional medicine doctors to find and remove the cause of chronic illness. They call it the Four R Program.
Before you go on, take a moment to honestly answer this question. If the evidence shows that there’s a better way to do health, are you open to changing?
